so my moh and i were discussing and we don't know how this all really works. i didnt ask my hall yet cuz it's too early, but im just wondering...
do you list the meals on the response card for ppl to check off or no? whats the norm? i just went to a christening where i had to check off our meals, but ive been to 3 weddings a little while back and i dont think i checked anything off.

Re: response cards
I've seen it before, I guess it depends on the RH.

Re: response cards
I remember long ago they used to do that. Like you would check fish, chicken or beef. But now most of the RH just have the guest chooses that night. Like my Rh has 7 choices. I don't think I should be listing 7 choices on the response card.

Re: response cards
It depends on the RH. Did they tell you that at dinner your guests will have a choice of X entrees or did they say that your guests must choose before the wedding? Most of the RHs I visited said that guests could order off the menu the day of.

Re: response cards
i guess if they dont require you to tell them...they just have an idea of how many ppl usually order which meal? like 60% beef, 30% chicken, 10% fish etc.
i totally was just wondering because i think its more elegant to not put the choices on there...but how does the rh know how much food to have? i guess that's just part of their job

Re: response cards
Yea..I'm not sure how the RHs do it if they don't know in advance how much of each entree to make...but I'm not too worried. I did see an RSVP card that had a really cute way of presenting entree options...

hmmm some of us have 4,5, 7 and even 9 choices, those of us getting married at JT have 9, and i think VYC.
but yeah they mostly do this in other states from what ive seen...i never received an invitation with the food choices on the RSVP...if anything call your Rh and ask how they do it.

Re: response cards
Very true...I know we definitely have more than 3 options for entree...best bet is to call your RH and ask.
Just thought I'd share another way of doing the RSVP in case you didn't want to list the options (I know you said you thought it wasn't as elegant). Sometimes all the RH needs to know is what type of entree your guest will want (beef, poultry, fish, or veggie) instead of the exact order within that category...

Hmmm... I haven't been to one wedding where i 've had to choose beforehand. How do you know what you're gonna feel like eating a month or two from now?

Re: response cards
i havent seen it at a wedding since i was in middle school...it was on the response card for a christening i went to and wondered if ppl still did it or if that was like an out of state thing. or if anyone's hall required it.
i dont think mine does cuz they didnt tell me i had to worry about it.
however that card above is a cute way to do it so it doesnt look as bad if u did have to
ppl at the christening were changing their orders day of...so i dont even know how effective it was anyway!

Re: response cards
I have never been asked to decide before. I think people neeed to read the descriptions and decide what kind of mood they are in that day.
