We got a response card back yesterday with a no which is fine they also sent a check. Do I wait till after the wedding to send a thank you card or send one out now?

Re: Response Cards
I think that anything received within a month before the wedding can wait until after. Seeing as your about 3 months from yours I think you should send an informal thank you now and then a formal one after the wedding. Not sure if this is proper etiquette but seeing as your thank you's will probably go out not less then a month after your wedding, just seems wrong to keep that person wondering if you got your gift/or weren't thankful for it.

I follow the rule of thumb that as soon as you receive a gift you send a thank you.

Re: Response Cards
We had a couple people do this as well and I sent a small thank you note right away. This way they at least know that you received it. I'll send the formal wedding thank you note later on as well.

I agree not to keep them waiting; however, feel that since they sent a gift you should send a thank you as you would if they attended. Some people don't even send a 'gift' with their nos so it would be nice to formally thank them...JMO
