Response Cards - number attending?

Response Cards - number attending?

My mom just pointed out to me that my response cards don't have a place for 'number attending' or anything like that. When I picked them out, I didn't even notice that! Is that normal? Does anyone else not have a line for number attending? Do guests have the sense to let you know how many are attending, or am I going to be guesstimating here? Ugh...

TIA!

I think you need a line for number attending....

I got a few responses like....

Miss Bride's Friend

# of Persons 2

If that line wasn't there I would have no idea she was bringing a guest. many people forget to include and guest or the guests name. HTH

i'm still deciding. i've heard it's more formal and proper ettiquette not to have a line for number attending, but practically it might be easier.

i'd say of the wedding invites i've gotten i've seen it 50% of the time

I didn't ;use a number attending line because I was worried that people would assume that means they can bring a guest even if it didn't specify on the envelope. We just have M_____ will or will not attend. Hopefully people would know to include the names of everyone in their party

Did you intend to allow them to bring a guest? Did you address the invite as 'Miss Jane Doe and Guest' ?

I didn't use a 'number attending' line. I just don't like that.
IMO, it gives people the opportunity to add guests.

My response card had
M _____________ (guest fill in their own names)
accept with pleasure
decline with regret

Me too...I am worried some of my older cousins will think they can bring their 6 kids!!! That would be 6 each by the way...

This is exactly how mine are.

We invived about 10 people total 'with guest'. Everyone else was either engaged, married, etc., where it would be clear the number attending. We are having a small wedding so it's not like we invited 50 people 'with guest' or anything - but still, I could see it being a problem if people don't know how to properly respond.

Thanks for the replies!
