response cards--where do they go?

response cards--where do they go?

Is it ok if the response card is not mailed to the person that is hosting the wedding, for the sake of convenience.

Example: I live here on long island, parents, who are paying, live in florida.

Can the response cards come here to me?? Why should the response card be mailed to florida for no reason, right?



Anyone else in a similar situation?

Edited to add my mothers side of the story: Mom says she will call me everyday with the numbers, and mail them to me once she gets to see them

alot of people do this - have it mailed to wherever is more conveniant for you

I'm not in a situation like yours..but I just wanna give my opinion....
If you are the one that is ogranizing the tables etc... they should be mailed to you. I dont see why they would have to go to Florida.

I am in a similiar situation- I live in CT, parents on long island. Personally, I do not want the job of doing table assignments, so the response cards are going to be sent to NY. But i think in your case, if you are going to be in charge of the seating and other things, your home would be the better deal

I wanted to come to me, and have the 'surprise' of getting the cards every day, but since my parents are hosting the wedding, they are going to them....oh well

my parents are hosting the wedding and would not allow the response cards to go to ANYONE BUT them - I am living in Michigan - so I call my mother everyday in NY and she tells me what each person wrote and is holding them for me so that I can have them all later if I want them

I'm having them come to me b/c both parents are chipping in for the wedding.
Our invitation says 'Together with our parents...' so I figured it was fine to send them to me. This way there's no middleman for figuring out who RSVPd and what not.

That is fine. We are paying for the wedding but out of respect I had the RSVP card addressed to my parents

I'd have it sent to your address...this way u can keep track of it...u know? and you'll get them back quicker since its in the same state.

We are ALL paying for the wedding so I didnt want FMIL getting upset if they went to my Mom so we had them sent to me instead so nobody would get upset.
