Response question?

Response question?

We mailed out our invites a few weeks ago, so far we have received 50 yes responses but no official No's. We've had 8 people verbally tell us that they won't be able to attend due to a scheduling conflict (and there are a handful of others that we invited but fully expect to decline for one reason for another), but not one of them has sent in an actual response saying No.

I find this very odd . . . If you know you're not coming, so much so that you told us in person, why not just check off the 'declines' box and drop the card in the mail? We already paid the postage! Do people feel that since they told us verbally that they don't need to bother sending in the response? I didn't want to X anyone off the list until I got it in writing (what if they change their mind?) but I'm starting to think I probably should. Did any of you experience this with your responses?

I feel like I paid for the dumb stamp, at least mail the thing back to me!

Re: Response question?

i have a feeling that the people who have RSVPed verbally will not be mailing back the cards. I would cross them off the list ... if they change their minds, you can always un-cross them

as for the other people who prob won't come, they'll prob wait till last-minute lol

i don't know this from first-hand experience ... but it is human nature
