Re: Response Vent

Nancy - Don't you want to call these people and rip them a new one!!! I think it is so rude not to respond. I would NEVER do that to someone.

Re: Response Vent

I feel your pain. Our response date was Feb 14th and we are still waiting for 15 resposnses(all from FH's side) My FMIL is calling those people today. People can be so rude. You spend so much time and money and they just don't care.

Re: Response Vent

Sorry ladies, I think everyone at some point goes through this, wait until you or someone else you appoint has to actually call them and ask 'are you coming' geez that's so ...Uggh!!!

Re: Response Vent

You are now a member of the club!! I think every single bride has the exact same vent. Yet it never ceases to amaze me that RSVP'ing could be so difficult!!

Re: Response Vent

For a friend of mine, whenever I spoke to one of the friends we had in common, I mentioned the response card casually. Like 'oh, I am running out right now, have to hit the mailbox to send *** response back!'. It was a 'plan' we had, it helped....because usually 1-2 days after I spoke to them, the response card suddenly appeared in her mailbox!

Do you have anyone that can do this for you?

Re: Response Vent

Excellent idea Misty! So far I have FMIL that can't help but ask every single person on her side of the family if they sent theirs back yet! Do you think that's why the majority is coming back no?!

My response date is March 24th. As we get closer I may just have ppl do that! (Besides FMIL!) Thanks.

Re: Response Vent

ok ... I've got one ..... my dad's bro who lives in fla ... not so close to the fam ... was invited to the wedding ALONE. He responds back that he's bringing someone ... nerve. Well, 2 weeks later, right after our final count was due, he says that he's NOT bringing someone AND THEN he calls a few days later & says he can't GET ANY TIME OFF!!!

Luckily, we'd given the head count at minimum as suggested, so it didn't cost us anything!

Re: Response Vent

I feel I must confess that I didn't respond for my cousin's wedding and my aunt had to keep on calling me. I was invited without a guest and did not know if I wanted to go alone. I feel bad about it now but then I didn't even think twice.

Re: Response Vent

Misty...we tried that...My FI saw a few of his family members who have not responded and when he asked them...they said, Well you know were coming...OK, I might think they are coming, but mail the **** response back!!!! So my FI told them, if we don't get your response...you can't eat!!
Then of course we have the one who asked...after seeing that it says Adult Reception...can I bring my 3 kids!!! It's just so annoying!!!!!!!!

I know in the end it will all work out....or at least that's what I tell myself...But I am stressed out enough with other wedding issues...I don't need this also!!! Boy...am I whiny or what???????

Re: Response Vent

We have been putting 'bugs' in everyones ears lately. A woman at work told me over 4 weeks ago she wouldn't be coming, but she hasn't bothered to send back the card..I mean really check no and send it back.

I can understand when it is distant people but alot of them are close cousins, aunts/uncles!

Re: Response Vent

What ****es me off, is that a majority of the time, it's close friends or family members that just expect that you will know they are coming. They don't realize that keeping track of 200 people isn't an easy job...or that you paid upwards of 600 bucks for those response cards!

Re: Response Vent

Well said Misty!!!! That was bugs me...family and close friends that don't answer!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Re: Response Vent

I'd be annoyed also especially since there is postage on the response return envelope. Most people know you have to have a head count, why they don't respond in a timely manner is besides me.

Re: Response Vent

I was getting response cards up until a few days before the wedding. I just don't understand some people.
