Responsibilities of the Parents at the Reception?

Responsibilities of the Parents at the Reception?

I know it's an odd question, but my parent's and FI's parents don't know what they should be doing during the reception.

Should they be greeting the guests and mingling? What did your parents do?

I'm just a little worried b/c it's coming across as if FIL's are going to be 'guests' at the wedding rather than 'hosts' and 'parents'

Both sets of our parents will be mingling at the reception with their respective sides of the family. They'll greet and walk a round to the different tables. If their are friends or family of their that we don't know well, they will come with us to that table to welcome them.

And, they must dance!

This is what we did at my brother's wedding too.

our parents did a lot of mingling as well. That and dancing...that was about it.

Nothing but enjoying, mingling, and dancing! My dad had an amazing time and after a few martinis by Banquet Manager was calling him 'the mayor!'

Really, after the best man makes the speech, everyone should just chill and party! My BIL was amazing and in his speech had the room toast my parents for allowing such a special day to be had.....
