do you need reservations or can you just walk up? Is it very crowded then?

sorry for many questions, just I never did this before and am thinking of surprising DH.

Yes, you do need to make reservations and as soon as possible because a lot of the 'hot' places book up quickly. If you like, subscribe to opentable.com, where each place you visit is redeemable for points. After accumulating a certain amount of points you get discounts at certain restaurants. (it takes awhile though and I forget the point scale right now).Also, not all of the Restuarant week restaurants are part of open table (but a good deal are). It is worth checking out.
