Re: Restaurants
how is the mars place? Usually theme places suck as far as the food goes, but it's fun while its sucking.
There is a Benihana in Westbury, right where Bed Bath and Beyond is. Also in Manhasset on Northern ,and I think in the city.

It's not buffet, but La Mela in Little Italy is a perfect place for a large group. It's family style. We went there with a group and had a blast.

yes they have a whole chinese/japanese hot food buffet area & a hibatchi station where they cook chicken, beef or shrimp on a hibatchi grill for you.
They also have cold salads & veggies on the buffet
Then they have tons and tons of sushi.

We've always had fun at Greenfield on Route 110 in Farmingdale.
It's like an indoor BBQ ... they have buffet set up .. with salads .. rices .. soups .. etc .. but the servers come around with skewers of meats fresh off the flaming grill .. different kinds of cuts of beef .. turkey .. sausage .. lamb .. etc. .. and on the weekends .. from what I understand .. the cuts get pretty exotic .. though we've never been there on a weekend.
And I remember a Chinese buffet on Route 110 across from Walt Whitman Mall .. that was pretty good .. is that 'East' ???
