Cipollini: Just opened; no ratings
Set in Manhasset's Americana, this trattoria from the Poll brothers (Bryant and Cooper) opened just as this survey went to press; mosaic tile floors, mirrored and paneled walls and an open kitchen with a brick oven set the stage for italian style chops, fish, and pastas served continuously from lunch until late, and at the adjacent cafe, Cipollini Pronto, you can get salads, panini, and expressos to go-or eat at an communal table on the premises.

For Italian I would suggest La parma in roslyn, family style, excellent food.
Also Pomodoro's in Port Washington is great too.
