umi in oceanside on long beach rd... most fantastic sushi I have EVER had.. they have black sushi!! ( soooo cool)

FH and I went to Gabrielle's Brasserie and Wine Bar and loved it! They have a prix fixe menu for $22 that was awesome.

Highly recommend it.

I've been to the Blue Moon Cafe and it's really good - even has a party room if that's what you need.

Cabo and Blue Moon are awesome
RJ Daniels also has really good food

thanks for all the recommendations girls, we ended up going to croxley ale (but I think all your recommendations sounded better)
