Re: Restylane?
we started injecting it as soon as it was FDA approved. None of our patients have ever had any problems with the treatments. The results are instant, and the whole thing takes about 10 min. There will be swelling for a few hours, and it may bruise. People love it. We don't get many patients coming in to plump lips, most of our patients are filling lines. But it does the job. The doc loves the product. It lasts about 6 months or so. There are no animal products in it, so you do not need a skin test before hand.
It is very safe and as long you have a doctor inject the product (nothing off-label, the real stuff) you should have no problems with it. I would just ask the doc to inject on the conservative side at first. Then come back in a week to follow up and have him touch up any areas if you feel may need more. You can always add more, but you can take it out - once it's done thats it for a few months. Give it a week and let it settle, then go back. You do not want to over do it a la Meg Ryan.
