Resume Question

Since I have a new last name what should I write on my resume? Should I hyphenate the names? I am known around the industry by my other last name.

Yes, I would. And then if you are hired, choose how you want to be known (hyphenated or new last name etc).

For a while, you could use fka - (formely known as). For example:

Julz NewLastName (f.k.a. OldLastName)

I changed my name everywhere. I use my new name at work and had my business cards and email updated. It may take some time for people to get used to, but in the end it will be much easier to have only one name.

Since you have a rep in your industry already, why not keep your maiden name professionally?

i hear that's a ***** if you travel a lot, that is if you keep it ONLY for work (i.e. passport new name but everything work related maiden).

i would definitely hyphenate on your resume or just substitute your maiden as your middle for now...

I am definitely changing my name... I am keeping my name for this job because there is too much to change but the next job I want to start off with my new last name... and hopefully this will be soon
