retard-o nail question...

What is better....UV gels or Acrylics? what is the difference?

I usually only get regular manicures or rinse off gels...but my nails are not in good enough shape so I need to turn to another option that can add length....pls help! Making week of appts NOW!

Usually you have to get both. The UV gel goes on top of the acrylic and it won't chip off. I think you could also do silk under the gel, instead of acrylic. I think that's what I did last time I had them, because I can't stand super thick fake nails. The UV gel cures under a light and you don't have to sit and wait for them to dry, you just pay and leave. If you get regular acrylic, they paint over it with polish.

can you do the OPI gel? this isnt a tip, it goes onto your nails.

I have gotten the OPI gels and love them but my nails are kinda shorter than I hoped they would be. I work in hospitals so I am constantly using the antimicrobial gels and it destroys my hands in this weather.

I need a little extra length....
