Rev. Susan Marlan

Hello brides-to-be. I was just married and I remembered this site from when I first got engaged. I have never posted but I felt it was important for me to now. I was married by Rev. Susan Marlan. If you are considering her I would just like to let you know that she was the most upsetting part of my wedding. My DJ was stuck in traffic and she said she would not wait for him to perform my ceremony and that I would have to go through it without music or she would leave. She also argued with us while signing our marriage license (moments before we were to be married)that she wanted cash, not the check that I had brought her. She then ate at my cocktail hour and left without even saying goodbye. I will say that she did a beautiful ceremony and none of my guests realized how much she upset my husband and I. If you choose her just make sure you have a thick skin!! Feel free to email me and good luck to all!! p.s. I used Tony and Pedro from Mark Kauffman photography and they were the best money I ever spent.

Please let`s remember what this board is about

I usually don`t get involved in these types of threads. But since I have joined the board in March, I have seen a lot of little 'fights' go on. Everyone on this board is entitled to express their feelings and opinions no matter how controversial they may be. LoriB, you are totally free to express your feelings regarding any topic, but the tone and language that you used was very hostile. We are suppossed to be hear to help and listen to other brides and not to chastize them. It is okay to disagree with someone's post, but it is not okay to belittle them in your response. Please keep that in mind in your future posts.

Geez, what`s your problem? You weren`t even

I don't post much here but I had to respond to lorib's post. You, my dear are the one who is arrogant! You sound as if she was talking about you personally. I find you obnoxious and I think you are the Rev.Susan Marlan or her girlfriend. Don't insult our intelligence!

LaurenS - well said...

I too agree that everyone is entitled to their opinion on this board...I sometimes disagree with things that are said, suggested, etc, but I find I keep my mouth shut often in fear of offending someone without intending to. As far as this particular reverend goes, I think TaraIrene was simply warning other brides that not only was it somewhat insensitive to not wait a few minutes to perform the ceremony (and to use their best judgement when picking officiants, as well as other vendors), but to also perhaps state in contracts that if ALL vendors do not show up by the scheduled time, that the payment will surely suffer due to it. Tara, I'm sorry that this part of your day upset you so much, and I know in my heart that despite it, you still had a beautiful and memorable day. Please, lets all try to support each other...espcially when it comes to the happiest days of our lives!! Good luck to all!!!

Jessica

I think there was a mix up when you read my post, I was responding to Lorib. I was agreeing with your post about Lorib. I should have changed the subject to say her name. Sorry for the confusion!
