Review -- Exclusively Weddings (some good, some bad)
I placed a pretty big order with Exclusively Weddings and I know that some of you were considering using them for gifts & wedding stuff, so I thought this review would be helpful ![]()
The Not-So-Great
:
Calligraphy BM Bags : These looked really awesome online. They are paper bags that have each BM's name calligraphed on the front. They arrived in a flat cardboard envelope and yet they were all a little wrinkled. It's obvious that someone did them with a marker and, while the calligraphy is nice, I didn't expect to see the 'stop marks' from the marker (you know how when you hold a marker in one place for more than a second, you get a drop of ink in that spot). One of the bags has a bit of dirt (maybe smudged ink) on it as well. Overall, it's no better than a standard paper bag from a nice department store. I might find something else to put in these and spring for monogrammed tote bags instead to put the girls' gifts in. They were only $4.95 though so not the worst purchase in the world, just not the best either.
Pearl Necklace : These were $18 and, to me, looked like they cost $5. The pearls were smaller than I thought they'd be and they weren't 'loose' they way a real pearl necklace would be. The necklace felt like you could bend it and it would hold that shape (if that makes any sense). I'm going to return them and look around Macy's for something a little nicer.
Pearl Earrings : These were $15 and they were nice, but again, the pearls are smaller than I thought they'd be. They might be nice for a junior BM or flowergirl, but I don't think they have enough substance in size for my BMs. I'll be returning these as well.
The Good![]()
I ordered both of these pens to try to figure out which to use with my guestbook: Dogwood Pen and Monogrammed Pen. They both seem to be of high quality and the base on the monogrammed pen is VERY heavy, which is nice. The monogrammed pen is slightly shorter than the dogwood pen, which you can't really tell online. They're both great though.
Vera Wang Cake Cutting Set : This was perfect. They inscribed our names and wedding date on both the cake knife and server. It arrived in a really nice Vera Wang box as well. It's $59 on the website plus $7.50 for the engraving. I saw it at Bloomingdales in Roosevelt Field for $50 but I'm not sure if they do engraving.
Hope this helps![]()
