Review for any Sand Castle Brides
Ok.. so it's a little late, but my girlfriend was married there june 1st and i was in the bridal party, so i thought i'd share for anyone getting married there....
I'll start by saying...It was a beautiful Day.. a bit hot.. but sunny and perfect!!! We all met at the red chair salon in maspeth at 7am for our hair and make up ( her ceremony wasn't til 3:30 but we had 9 girls!! The bride had someone come to her..) Everyone looked beautiful.. John our stylist did a great job, although all of our hair was out by the time we got back to the brides house because of the humidity.. my hair is very straight and i wanted lots of curls.. which he did.. but mother nature said nope.. too bad..lmaoo( i also think that a bit more hairspray could have been used though. It took us all so long that we wound up being late to the brides house too..eek.. but it worked out)..so just a note.. if you have a big bridal party.. have someone come to you and your girls.. i takes out travel time, and you don't risk your hair or make up getting as damaged in between. JMO . Our makeup though..wow.. phenomenal!! I loved it!!!! I wanted to take this guy home and have him do my make up every day! lol.
By Quarter to 2 we were getting into our BM dresses and taking pictures and WOW did she look beautiful.. it brought me to tears to see my one of my oldest and closest friends in a wedding dress. the bride was stunning in her jasmine couture dress. I forget which photographer she used, but i'm pretty sure he was from queens.. i'll find out.. i saw some of her proofs the other day finally and they came out beautiful!!! Still waiting on the video though.
BM dresses were great! Alfred Angelo ... we got them from flowerama in queens on myrtle ave.. the biggest complaint all of us had (including the bride) about that place was the attitude of the people that worked there.. the MOH got into plenty of arguments with them!!!!! Also.. 2 days before the wedding the MOH realized they had permanently sewn in her bustle.. so the day before the big day they had to go back to have it fixed!!
The ceremony actually started pretty ontime, and everything went great! It was beautiful and perfect and there wasn't a dry eye between us girls!

Off to the reception.. we had a bus cause there were about 22 of us total i think. Upon arrival..we recieved a tray of water, cranberry and vodkas for the girls and beers for the guys!!!! We def. appreciated that!!! The location is great for outdoor pics!! Everything was beautiful and from the minute we got there we were all treated wonderfully!
As we were taken to the bridal suite to relax... i was amazed at how beautiful everything was. The bridal suite was a def. A++++. It was soo nice.. and we had trays of sandwhich meats and cheeses set up, fruits and veggies and sodas ready to go. They also set up a hot buffet for us with food that was being served at the CH so we wouldn't miss out. The bathroom is huge and there is even a TV there where u can see your CH going on.. it was great!!! They took drink orders and brought us anything we wanted. They also came out with trays of pigs in a blanket, friend ravioli and chicken fingers which we all LOVED!! They took good care to cover the bride up so she could eat and made sure she had plenty of food to choose from! I was very impressed!
Off to the party...
The DJ was amazing.. i'm pretty sure they used satisfaction... i'll have to double check that.. but WOW! everything from the BP entrance to the motage and light show..to the final dance was excellent. Not only was the dance floor never empty..it was packed to capacity. I mean we are a party crew without a doubt.. but they were really great! They played everything from house to freestyle to classic rock (which we all love)... The MC was never invasive and had just the right amount of audience interaction! It was wonderful!!!!!
The food, room set up, service.. everything was AMAZING!!! I never ate so much in my life. The did a VH and that was incredible.. but by then i was too stuffed to eat anything else.lmao!! ... all in all it was perfect! there were no complaints about the venue, at all!!! We all danced non stop, FH even caught the garter.. and for once they were right.. he is the next one getting married..woohoo! lol..
The cake was beautiful and tasted great!!!!
