Review friend's Wedding- Woodbury Country Club- a little long

I went to my best friend’s wedding at Woodbury Country Club and had an amazing time! I know some of you were curious since you are getting married there, so let me first put your mind at ease- the staff there was first rate and the event went perfectly. My friend was more than satisfied with the results! So here are my impressions-

Bridal Attendant- Jessica- AMAAAAZING! The bride had asked me to arrive early to decorate the bridge for the ceremony for her- Jessica was very accommodating and helpful. She could not do enough to help us set-up or help the bride.

Flowers- by J a c k & R o s e. Beautiful! My only comment is that my friend Ally (the bride) complained that in her final session with them, they recommended adding a bunch of things and the contract was already done and paid- she felt like they should have told her earlier on about things like decorating the chairs and the bridge- they wanted $200- so now you know why I did it… and I will tell you- it was easy and looked beautiful- so definitely worth doing yourself or asking a friend or family member- we bought 30 feet of toule (Michaels) and 15 bows off ebay- effect was nice.

Ceremony- Ally’s ceremony was in the gazebo over the bride- lovely location.. She didn’t play music during the ceremony- so it was easy to hear everything and the location was gorgeous. One comment- if you are doing your ceremony on a very sunny day- you may just want to warn the older people to sit in the back so they don’t take in too much sun.

Cocktail Hour- Presentation very nice. She had the following stations- Greek, Fajita, and Chinese. My FH and I did not care for the Chinese food at all. The greek was amazing and while I loved the fajita’s- it was just too messy for a wedding. One complaint about the cocktail hour- there was always a long line at the bar- there was 2 bar tenders (180 guests) and one was very slow.

Dinner- Room was upstairs- I don’t remember the name- they set it up beautifully and it overlooked the gardens that were magnificent. Appetizer- crab cakes over salad. I had wanted to do this too- and I thought it was a great appetizer- but a lot of the people at my table did not eat it- I would suggest a separate salad and appetizer.
Dinner choices- crusted salmon, chateau briand, and some sort of French chicken. We both had the chateau briand- a little salty but otherwise good. Everyone at the table enjoyed their dinners- no one had any complaints.
For dessert they served an ice cream covered in chocolate shell with vanilla, chocolate and raspberry center- this was by far the highlight of the night!!!!! Amazing!

Cake- Beautiful looking cake- but it tasted awful! It did not seem fresh at all- maybe it was frozen and defrosted? This was really the only bad thing though.

Otherwise, perfect! Location was gorgeous, staff was wonderful & we had a great time!

There are some pictures in my album- I will upload more later this week... If you have any questions- just fm me!
