Review of Bridal salons...long

I went early Sunday afternoon to bridal stores to look for dresses. First I went to Priscilla of Boston. The salon is beautiful and the people were very nice. When i sat down with a consultant she asked me about my budget. I told her no more then 3000. She nicely said that this was out of my price range but i could look around. OMG they prices started at 3500 and up.. So i said thanks and left..But will go back this Fruday for sample sale.

Second place was Macys bridal salon Demetrios in Manhasset. Now this was more my range and the dresses were nice. I want a sexy dress to show off my figure well whatever figure i have left. The prices were reasonable. Betty was very helpful. She gave me her opinions on the dress that i tired on. I liked the dress but not loved it,, The good thing with them they customize your dress for your height. While i was there with my mom there were these Spanish ladies also saying their opinions on the dresses that i was trying on. Then on the low handed my mom a card of a place in queens that sell designer dresses for cheap.. I will look into this store and let you guys know. This is the info they gave me ;
Best Total Wedding Plaza
Store I; 194-20 Northen Blvd, Flushing ny
Factory: 402 suneca ave, Ridgewood, Brooklyn ny
718-939-7990

Third place was Bridal Couture of Manhasset. Helen helped me and was telling me that because i am short that a mermaid dress/ trumpet dress will not look good on me.. I dont know if she said that because she was really giving me an honest opinion or because there were no mermaid dress in their collection. well i tried a big dress. I looked like a princess but OMG i could not even walk. And im Latina and love to dance my Spanish music. Crap i wouldn't be able to dance. When i asked about alterations she said that they do not customize your dress. They take your measurements and order the dress thats closets to your size. Not customize with your body..
Well at the end of the day i left and all i was thinking is sh*t i have to seriously lose weight

Glad you started off your search on a good note but I do agree with the sales associate about mermaid dresses. I loveee them but I think they look better on a taller figure.

Isn't it fun to go dress shopping?

Also, the salesperson was right; mermaid dresses look better on a taller person as oppose to a short person. I've always been told that princess dresses fit really nice on short people.

Good luck finding your dress, have you tried on a mermaid style dress to see how it looked?
I'm only saying because my sister is short like me and she wore a mermaid style dress with heels and I thought she looked amazing. Sorry I don't have any pics to show you.

Check out RK Bridal in the city They have a huge selection of dresses. Aisha is my consultant there and she is awesome.

Also look at The Wedding Plaza in Floral Park...Krystine is awesome also.
