Review of our weekend getaway!
I just wanted to give a quick getaway review of this past weekend. We had bought my mom tickets for the Autumn on the Hudson ferry ride that left from West Point on Saturday.
We stayed at the chester inn in Chester, NY..next to Warwick and it was so beautiful. The inn is a small like motel with 12 rooms. It is located on the top of a mountain so the view was beautiful! They had a small pond and places to sit and enjoy the outdoors throughout. Their rooms were spotless and were very reasonable. Each room had microwaves and small fridges. We loved it and the people were so nice.
The boat ride was very nice although West Point is such a confusing place that we got so lost we almost missed the boat. Once we got on it (after running like crazy people), it was so nice and a wonderful way to enjoy the fall foliage.
We went shopping on Sugarloaf mountain where there is quaint stores that offer so much. We ate at the Cider Barn which was absolutely amazing and the decor was beautiful..so rustic!
On Sunday we stopped at Bear Mountain for the last day of their October fest. It was so nice but not enough tents set up.
The topper was the haunted place we stopped at on the way home. We have been there before and I didnt want to go back because I was so scared the first time. But my brother was dieing to go so we went. It was located in Sterling forest in Tuxedo NY. It was so scary and not a god experience for me because I almost fainted in what they called the 'slaughter house.' Not because of the scariness but because I am so clastrophobic and there was one room inside that we couldnt get out of. 4 guys dressed up as mass murdrers led me out and were so concerned..it was so sweet but soooooooo embarrassing!
Overall it was such a nice weekend..my mom seemed to enjoy it (except the Yankees losing) and I was so happy that we gave that to her. I am going to look for holiday celebrations in the same town so we can go back. Just wanted to share with you guys!![]()
