Review of The Lake House, by James Patterson

I read this last week on vacation - it was good!

I was surprised to see that it was a continuation of his other book, When the Wind Blows. From this title, I figured it was similar to his book last year, the Beach House, which was my favorite!

I had read When the Wind Blows a few yrs ago, so I was already familiar with that story line - it's recommended, but I don't think you'd be lost to read this new book without the history of the other.

I enjoy this book, but science fiction isn't my favorite - I'm more into murder mysteries
I was surprised to find that most of the book doesn't take place at this actual lake house, but moreso in a few different places, but I don't want to give too much of the book away.

This was a typical JP book - no real surprises from what I figured, but it was an interesting read and kept me wanting to finish and find out how it ended!

What did everyone else think of it?

Thanks for the review Teri. Right now I'm towards the end of the Beach House...and I just love all the Long Island references!

The Beach House was one of my favorite recent books I've read - I also loved the fact that it takes place in Montauk and all....another favorite is the Gold Coast by Nelson DeMille

I too liked the Lake House although the first book when the wind blows was much better.

I'm with you Teri - I Loves Gold Coast, and am 1/2 way through Beach House and loving it too! I didn't care for When The Wind Blows at all though -- so i guess I'll be skipping over Lake House.
