Reviews Needed on The Metropolitan and Verdis

Hi All,

Does anyone have any reviews or information on The Metropolitan in Glen Cove or Verdis in Wesbury?

My FSIL had her engagement party at Verdis in March and it was a lot of fun. The cocktail hr food was soooooooooooooooooooooo freakin' good!!!!!!!!

I went to an engagement party at Verdis... Beautiful place, staff was good and so was the food!

My company has had their Christmas party there for the last few years... I have to say the food is good.

Thanks so much everyone! My FH and I went to check out the Met and Verdis yesterday.... The Met is absolutely gorgeous and the prices they gave were very reasonable...Verdis was nice and the prices were tooo good to pass up since we are on a very very tight budget....

We haven't made a decision yet but are very much leaning towards Verdis because of price!

FH's cousin got married at the Metropolitan 2 years ago. It was such an incredibly classy wedding and the food was amazing! we loved it so much we looked into it for ourselves, but realized it was ridiculous to ask people to drive from coram (where our church is) to glen clove.

mrsg2be11...It really is gorgeous at the Met...if we had the money...would totally book there in an instant!

VCanizalez...Verdis is very nice...the cocktail hour space and the ballroom is very nice and spacious which is great! They recently redid the ballroom according to the man that we spoke to and it is beautiful...we are planning on having at least 150 people... I would definitely recommend going to check it out at the prices are GREAT!

The Metropolitan was beautiful when a friend was married there two Novembers ago! My only 'complaint' was that there was not enough seating for everyone during cocktail hour so many guests stumbled around with a drink and a plate and no way to enjoy either!

if verdis in westbury is anything like the one in whitestone, you have NOTHING to worry about.

Verdis is nice. My parents were married there 33 years ago and my sister is getting married there next saturday so ill definately post a review. I also went to a sweet 16 there a few years ago the food was good and room was gorgeous!

my cousin got married at verdis in June 2010 ... she has over 200 people. They did redo the ball room and it was beautiful!

I'm getting marry in Verdis May 29, 2011. Everytime I come in to make a payment I always look at the room. We did the food tasting about a month ago, the food is incrediable. We loved the seasoning especially because we are spanish and the seasoning is a big deal for us. The price was perfect we are also having the venise hour.

I had my sweet 16 at Verdi’s in 2001. No complaints There was a wedding going on in the room next door though, and I know for sure that a bunch of the boys from my party snuck into the wedding. Food was good, but again, not a wedding so we did a buffet and a cash bar (just beer and wine for adults, everything else had to be paid for by the guest).

May I ask the estmated price pp for Metropolitan? I've seen pictures of it, and always dismissed it because I thought it would be super expensive.

I was quoted $120 pp (i believe) for a Friday night. It is a really beautiful place but I thought it was going to be larger. I am having around 200 guests and I think it would be a little cramped.
