Reviews of PJCC

so it looks like fh and i are going sat but.......my parents went by today . they said that it is unbelievable. they quickly got to see the inside and the outside where our ceremony will be held. they said that they stuck to the country club feel and they were extremely impressed. all the landscaping is done too and it looks gorgeous.

so i'll take pics on sat and post them afterwards.

Re: Reviews of PJCC

I went earlier today.

It was very nice but I think some finishing touches were still needed. Drapes and so on... Also the parking lot needed finishing.

The main hallway/enterance was very small- that surprised me. To get to the cocktail room guests have to go through a small hallway... (around the side of the ballroom)

The room is beautiful- great big windows overlooking the water, same with the cocktail hour room. Tables are oval- I prefer round. I am hoping they have better choices of linens, plain white was on all of the tables... it needed a little bit more color.

I wasn't crazy about the chairs in ballroom and cocktail room. The dance floor was beige marble, bars were granite and to the side.

Bathroom was down a level of stairs, which may be a pain for some elders, although there is an elevator. Carpeting was nice and elegant... not to bright or ugly. Sometimes these catering halls choose the ugliest carpeting!

Hope that helps... I was happy with it. My finace loved it!! The water totally makes it. On teh deck you can see the harbor to the left. However, you also see the tennis courts.

Let me know how it goes. I wish I thought to bring a camera!

Re: Reviews of PJCC

thank you so much for the update. i know i am going to walk in there with a critical eye as well. you've given me some great questions to ask thanks!

i happen to see the chairs one day and i agree i wasn't overly impressed but we chose not to do chair covers which i was debating.

about the linens, when we picked them we weren't overly wowed. they were the standard colors. nothing too exciting.

good point about the bathroom- we weren't aware of that but as long as they have an elevator.....

did you do the tour with charles?

I haven't been to see it yet but saw a few pictures. It looked absolutely beautiful my only small 'concerns' if you could even cal lthem that.... the main room did look very plain from what I could tell (thank God about the carpet too, it's not too bad ....and I HATE carpeting...would have preferred wood floor though) maybe they still need to add a few finishing touches! Those chairs, really stuck out to me too. They just really don't look that great but maybe it's just the pictures???? The windows look UNBELIEVABLE and the view looked amazing (again, I just saw pictures, I'm sure in person it is even more beautiful!
I'll post when I go to see it later in the week! I am VERY excirted about it, I think it's going to be great!

Re: Reviews of PJCC

So happy to see someone has some feedback. I am in the city and it is so hard to get out there so I proabably will not make it until next week. I have to admit I am a little nervous now. What do the chairs look like that makes them weird? Do the rooms have high ceilings? What is the color of the carpet....trying to figure out what color scheme to go with.

I tried calling Villa's to get a little more info but they would not give me much. So the main ballroom is all carpet with a marble dancefloor...I am sure the view must be amazing! Ok, no more questions......this nervous bride needs to go out there and check it out

Re: Reviews of PJCC

Thank you SO MUCH for putting information about PJCC on here. I can't wait to get out there and see the place in person. I'm also in the city, so it's a trek, but I can't wait to make it. Now I'm really curious what the chairs look like. Are chair covers an option? I don't think we even talked about that with them at Lombardi's. Can't wait to see some pics.
Where did someone else see the pics they were describing? Are they online by any chance?

Re: Reviews of PJCC

O thank God I wasn't the only one who felt this way I took the tour lastnight and had the same feelings the chairs, the narrow hallway and the bathroom. MY FH thought I was crazy but I hope they get alot of complaints about the chairs That's really all they can fix the hallway and bathroom are permanent, but throw us some chair covers please please

My friend went there last night.. she's getting married there in 2006 and already booked.. she said it was beautiful and not gaudy at all.. more of an Ethan Allen look, if that makes sense.. she said the cocktail hour room is to die for... I'll pick her brain more tomorrow at work!

Re: Reviews of PJCC

We are getting married at pjcc this august and i was a little disappointed by the size of the room and the chairs... i already spoke with charles and those are the chairs- no changing. so if you want slipcovers you have to hire someone and the person they recommend is charging 7.50 per chair. this includes setup and take down. I'm in the process of trying to find a place that is a little cheaper... I will try to post my pics..
