RH 'extras'

Hey ladies,

My FH and I were discussing our 'ideal' RH extras. We'd LOVE to add a half hour to the cocktail hour. Is anyone doing this? Curious to hear what you ladies are adding to your reception (food, etc.) Were you able to get your hall to throw those things in for free?

I haven't tried yet but i know lots of people love that xtra half hr so they can finish their pics and still have some time to be at the CH.

It cant hurt to ask.

Giorgio's has a built in 1 and a half cocktail hour!! If you are still looking at RH's, def give them a look! It's built right into the price

oh and yes, we were able to get them to throw other things in for free

we added extra booze No seriously my family is so particular about their beer...

we also added a half hour before the ceremony (we are getting married at the RH) where their will be a little snack and a our signature drink...we are shuttling ppl from the hotel and don't want ppl just milling around with nothing to drink!

We comtemplated doing this but decided not to (but who knows, we may still add it in). We would really like to get all the pictures done before the cocktail hour starts so if when we speak to the photog he feels we would need more time, we will extend the CH 30 minutes to allow more time for photos. FH and I would like to attend and enjoy the CH with our guests.

Extras we had thrown in for us for free were

- Filet Mignon entree upgrade
- chocolate fountain
- mashed potato station at the CH (regular and sweet potato with all the toppings - I am drooling over this already lol)
- champagne/strawberry greeting cart when guests arrive

Just make sure if they are adding in extras for you to have that written down in your contract and have them give you a copy. Wehn we went to the last meeting and he started throwing all this stuff in I made sure he wrote everything out in our contract and made me a photocopy to keep. Not to say I think they would take it back later but it's better to be safe

that was something I really wanted to have. I just like walking into a wedding a immediately being handed alcohol LOL. I was so happy when they told us they were just going to throw it in for nothing!

we got the chocolate fountain and martini bar.

we're only paying $2 a person for the extra half hour and our chair covers. which i thought was really good

Almost everywhere I went I asked for the extra half hour and they were willing to throw it in for free.. The Inn at NHP has a standard 1 1/2 hr cocktail... They added in every extra we wanted for free.. I swear it's all about negotiating, especially if you can guarentee a large number of guests.. Most places we went offered to throw in the VH for free also

Our RH did throw in a lot of things

-comp stay at the hotel next door
-wine on the tables
-chair covers
-ice sculpture
-pasta course
-extra two hot stations during CH

we decided to add viennese trays rather than the extra hour, but now FH is considering the extra hour instead

We'll see how the budget looks!
