RH for 50-60 people with an outdoor ceremony?

RH for 50-60 people with an outdoor ceremony?

Hello everyone! Never posted, but I've been lurking for months getting ideas for venues to visit. My FH are are planning a more intimate reception.

Mainly we're looking for rooms that we'd have to guarantee 50 people. We've seen a few places that didn't quite fit. We've been to Westbury Manor, and while it's beautiful, we did not have the option of an outdoor ceremony, as that was for a larger room. :(

We also visited Coral House. I really loved the Colonial Skylight Room but the 70 minimum was too high for us to make. The other room (Lakeside) was nice and had a minimum of 50 people but it was not quite what were looking for. It looked more like a conference room. However we would be able to have an outside ceremony on the lake, which we really like.

The latest place we saw was the Bridgeview Yacht Club. (I found this place thanks to this forum!) The upstairs room has an outdoor patio that we can use, but the outdoor ceremony area was for the larger room only (except if we're lucky and no one needs it on our date, which is nice but we shouldn't bank on it). We're thinking this is our best bet, as it's on the water, has lots of natural light, we can be outdoors at least for the reception, and it fits our party size well.

We'd really like an outdoor ceremony, but we also realize that with such a small party we can't have everything! Also we're taking into account that no one can predict the weather, so even if we find a place we may not get to use the outdoor site. Plus our guests will be spending more time inside the RH for food/dancing so really the indoor setting should be our priority. But if we can, we'd like the option! Any ideas?

Leonards guarantees for that size (i guaranteed 50) and they have an outdoor ceremony area. I haven´t seen the place physically yet (i´m overseas) but I´ve been hearing from the vendors (and my mother) that it´s really nice. You may want to check it out. You could talk to Antonio. He seems nice.

here is a list of places you might want to try, some are on the water

Danford on the sound
Lombardis on the sound
Bellport Country club
George Washington Manor
Hamlet gold and country club
hyatt regency
inn at great neck
Riverview
Swan Club
Old field club
Watermill Caterers
Verdis of Westbury (not sure about this one having an outside)

Louies in Port Washington is a great seafood restaurant and has been around for years. they have a private room that ive been to events at. It looks out directly onto the water and is beautiful. they have a large deck that is usually set up for eating outside but they might be willing to do the ceremony out there, there also a dock and pier.

The Metropolitan in Glen Cove is awesome. They have a small party room downstairs which I love that would be perfect for a smaller wedding. They also have an outdoor area for a ceremony but I don't know if there are any restrictions. Fm me if u want more info

Thatched Cottage and Miller Beach Surf Club were the only waterview locations I found willing to accept my 50 person minimum (only for Friday nite or Sunday).

You might also try Snapper Inn, Danford's, The Bayview House (70 minimum), Trumpets at the Gate (60 minimum and pricey), The Harbor Club and Sans Souci.

If you enjoy water, I would check out Chateau La Mer.

You can try Queens Botanical Garden, they have a indoor RH. I viewed the room during my wedding planning before finalizing my decision to do an outdoor wedding. It was gorgeous. You do have to supply or hire your own caterer. The room holds up to 70pp. and a newly rennovated dance floor with stage/lighting. An outdoor ceremony can be held in the wedding garden (separate cost from RH). In an event of rain, they do have an indoor tent available for the ceremony. Ask for Clare Del Monaco, she's a sweetheart. She was great to work with and helpful coordinating our wedding.

You mentioned your best bet being Bridgeview. I am confused. I had ruled them out a while ago since they said that their minimum was over 100.

You could try Miller Beach Surf Club...
They are right on the water, have an outdoor ceremony area and will guarantee starting at 50...

I went there yesterday with FH - Steve was really nice and they were going to have a weddng in about an hour so I saw them starting to set up.

I ran into the same problems as you because we are looking for somewhere that will accommodate 50 people.

Plus they are VERY affordable and they allow the bride and groom to go down and take pictures on the beach

Thanks everyone. :) I'm going out east to see some of these places next weekend. Wish me luck!

cherryblossom: Bridgeview has two areas for parties. I'm sure the larger room would need at least 100 guests but the room upstairs is small enough for our group, min 50.

Menabee,

Really? That's interesting. I wonder why they didn't mention that when I called them. Anyway--do you happen to know how much they charge them for the small room with a 50 person minimum?
