So my hall requires a certified check equal to 18% of my total tab that will cover 'gratuity' on the day of the wedding.
Can someone tell me what is included in this and who is not and who I need to tip thats not included and how much?
WHO WHAT WHERE WHEN WHY HOW? HUH?

Re: RH Gratuity
every place is different...if it helps..this is what my banquet manager emailed me when i asked who to tip..BUT,,,definitely ask yours as well
'I understand the big discussion about tipping!! All places do things so differently that it is hard to keep track as you get closer to the date.
Realistically, here, you have a 20% service charge on top of your bill that goes to your wait staff, bartenders, valets, ladies’ & men’s room attendants, coat checkers, & bussing staff. This is not a gratuity as much as it is a wage for them. While tipping these people is a nice gesture, (and of course always appreciated!) you should not feel obligated to do so, because you have already taken care of them.
As far as WM goes, the only people you do have to worry about are the Maitre D’ and the bridal attendant. Just to clarify, your Maitre D’ is responsible for the overall execution of your event. They come in a few days prior to your wedding to review all the details, special requests, food/liquor options, linen choices etc. They will hand select your wait staff based on the characteristics of your party. They are responsible for making sure the room is set up exactly to your specifications, that favors are set out, that seats are reserved for those who are closest to you etc. They also are there to coordinate with your DJ & florist to make sure that everything is set up correctly and in a timely fashion. They will coordinate with your photographer to make sure that you take as many photos that you want in all the places that you want. Your maitre d’ is also completely accountable for cocktail hour being set up correctly, for food being replenished, for having the correct amount of: captains behind each station as well as butler’s passing hors d’oeuvres. They of course orchestrate dinner orders being taken and served and accommodate for any special requests that were made either by you or by individual guests. The average tip that we recommend here is $4-5 per guest in attendance.
The bridal attendant’s responsibilities are far different in that she is accountable for the personal needs of you, your groom, your families and bridal party. She is going to be the one to make sure that you and John are happy, well fed, and calm the entire time. She will serve your dinner, wrap up the top of your wedding cake for you, pack up any personal items (cake knife, flutes, sign in books etc) and help you get everything to the car at the end of the party. She’ll also be the one to help bustle you up, or take you up to the ladies room freeing up the people closest to you to host the party while you are out of the room. For her we recommend anywhere from $50-$100 total and her tip is her own.
As always, tips are based on service and these recommendations are just an average. Ultimately, the gratuity for these two people will reflect what you feel was warranted at the end of your wedding and will be given directly to them.
I hope this was helpful to you and as always feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. '
