Rh Help

I am still on what feels like the never ending hunt for a rh. We finally narrowed it down but we need to narrow it down to one lol. We have our tops for various reasons the look, location, nice areas for pictures cause pictures are very important to us, and being able to have an outdoor option and the flow of the party itself. I can't stand the places where you cocktail hour is on one floor and the reception on another and the wedding somewhere else it makes you feel like your in a maze. I need some help and some insite to what are you thing the best places, who are the most accomidating, and put on a really great wedding. We both fell in love with Land's End but we think that they are just out of our price range even with negotiating with them it still comes out to be out of our range. I really just want to make a decision already Our tops are Giorgios, Fox Hollow, Woodbury CC, Lombardi's on the Sound, and West Sayville Country Club. Any insite is much appreciated. TIA!

Did you go look at west sayville country club bc I think the dance floor is in a seperate room from where the tables are. Not many brides on here have gotten married at Bellport Country Club but I would suggest checking it out, I think it should be cheaper than Lands End.

I am having my reception at the Fox Hollow. They have a lot of places to take really nice photos and they were one of the cheaper places we looked at. Lands End is gorgeous but quite expensive. The other places I really don't know too much about. Good Luck!!!

Something to remember about Lombardi's on the Sound is that their bathrooms are on a lower level than the ballroom. Might not be a big difference for some but since you want cocktail/reception on the same floor it's something to think about.

We're having our reception at Fox Hollow and I felt that they had nice places to take pictures and I thought the room was so pretty

Giorgio's was our second choice. Honestly, it was the only one we looked at out of your tops lol.

Just a heads up about fox hollow...make sure for the date you want where everything is....our ch is upstairs and everythign else downstairs...I liked it like this because I am having a small wedding and this for me was something I felt made it more intimate

I'm definitely biased, but Lombardi's on the Sound is absolutely gorgeous! Here's what I loved about it:
- people have the option of going outside and the view is magnificent
- during the reception you can keep the doors open so it feels like there's more room for people
- the whole place has a feeling of elegance to it
- it's the perfect size for our wedding, which is about 125-150

While I never had a preference as to where the bathrooms were located, I do kind of like that they're on a different floor actually.

Re: Rh Help

I didn't look at many RH but we decided on Giorgio's. I just fell in love with it the minute I walked in the door. I love that you have so many options for pictures (The garden, the vineyards, golf course, beach). If you have your ceremony on site they allow the bridal party to get there 3 hours prior to get ready and the bridal suite is fabulous. So you basically have the venue for the entire day and you are the only wedding their. Everyone there has been amazing and we thought the food was outstanding.

I am actually going on Monday to finalize our menu and pick linen colors, etc.

Just go what feels right for you and your FH. Good luck.

Thank you for all the feed back. Everyone keeps telling me you will know when you see it. The only places I got that vibe with was Land's End then I saw the price my heart sank I was like oh we will find another place. I loved giorgios the only thing that has me hesitating a lil is the distance and the hotels are about 4 to 5 miles away which isn't terrible. I liked fox hollow because it was all there you can fall over to your hotel. I fell in love with the somerlay but don't know if we can make the min. ppl. I didn't even know there was another room upstairs I only saw the winter garden pavillon and the somerlay. When we went to see lombardi's i thought it had a gorgeous view nice flow from entrance to cermony to ch to rh my fh didn't like the banquet manager lol he was like omg can she be any more fake with us lol I know they are trying to just be friendly to make you feel comfortable I mean I didn't think it was a big deal but my fh did lol. We never got to see the bridal suite at lombardi's or the bathrooms so i had no clue the bathrooms were downstairs. Did anyone else have a hard time coming to a decision or am I just being to picky? Like i like our tops but each one there is one thing that i dont like about each and don't know which place would be a better venue.

I went to check out 18 places before I made my final decision. I narrowed it down to 3 places and then weighed the pros and cons of each one to come to my final decision. I also liked Lands End but for a Sat in July I think I was quoted 175++ (which I wasn't willing to spend) Giorgios had a better price but they didn't have any of my dates available (so I didn't go to see it in person but have heard fantastic things about it and I'm sure it would have been on the top of my list. After seeing 18 venues I chose the Bellport Country Club!

Oh and about the whole 'you'll know when you see it' I have never felt this way about anything (dress, ring, my house etc) it's just not me. I know a lot of people do get that feeling, I just never have and you may or may not. I always weigh everything out and make my decision that way.

I thought I was having a hard time deciding until I saw Lombardi's, honestly. I liked a lot of the places I looked at, but as soon as I walked through the cocktail area and saw the view outside, I knew I had to get married there. The other places did each have one or two things I wasn't thrilled about. How many places have you visited? You may just need to go check out a few more!

Re: Rh Help

I'm getting married at the Woodbury CC so I'm biased. The gardens are beautiful and the cocktail hour is right outside of your reception room. We went to their bridal expo and the food and service was excellent.

I have been to 19 places and I think I might be missing a few to be honest lol. I feel like looking at more places is just going to make the decision even harder. Ok I don't feel so bad that I am being a nut with a pros and cons list and being indecisive. Thanks for the insite!

Love the Fox Hollow. FH and I fell in love with it before even walking in. We are having our reception in the Winter Garden room, which is so beautiful.

I got married at Giorgio's almost 3 weeks ago and it was perfection! Our hotel block was at Hotel Indigo which is about 5 miles away, they were amazing. I have nothing but great things to say about the whole experience and would be happy to help! Feel free to FM me with any questions!
