RH HELP!!!! - Greentree CC (Also Posted on BHB)

Hi ladies!!!!

Has anyone had or been to a wedding at Greentree Country Club? If so - how was the food and service?

We received a good price for a Saturday afternoon wedding there and the BM was very nice. However, it seems to me that the Greentree is one of the least booked of the other Davenport Avenue venues. I was just wondering why brides decided to book elsewhere and not book the Greentree.

Also - does it bother any Greentree brides or guests who have attended a wedding there that you have to pass a fenced pool when walking to the outside ceremony location? Wondering if this shows up in pictures and if it looks tacky to others?

TIA!!!!

Sorry I don't have any personal experience there as a guest, but I went there to look also and I thought it was beautiful!

Hey! i went to check out greentree as well... the price was amazing and the room was really pretty... the reason i didn't really like it was b/c the pool was directly outside the room windows which personally i didn't like plus the building itself didn't impress me... however, the room is very beautiful and im sure they do a terrific job!!! Its all about personal taste and how you feel when you walk in!

Thats funny, they were the highest priced venue out of all that I looked at on the strip. I didn't really like the room (it was the smaller one). If you're not totally happy with it I say look at the other ones but if it's not a big deal to you it is a beautiful place. There were a lot of stairs so it was easy for us to cross off the list my mom has really bad knees and couldn't make it up them. Go onto the Knot there's tons of postings on there about the venue.

Thanks Ladies!!! For some reason I just don't feel 100% about Greentree - more more stress...lol!

I'm looking for a Saturday afternoon reception and it was cheaper than the Surf Club. I'm going to go to see VIP CC on Wednesday. I've heard great things about that place - but I heard you don't have the view of the Long Island Sound and I just assumed its going to be out of our price range.

I would like to have booked a place by the end of this month. Not sure that's going to be the case.

I'm going to a wedding this weekend at the Surf Club and I can let you know how that goes. I booked VIP (didn't even look at surf club they were booked for my date). I liked VIP because they have a totally separate cocktail room and it's really nice, guests can walk around outside and stuff. There's a small view of the sound from where I'm getting married but it's not directly on the water. Out of the 5 places i looked at I liked it the best. I've also heard really good things as I book my venders who have worked at weddings there so I'm happy with my decision so far. Don't forget you can bargain no matter where you go so don't totally rule it out based on a phone quote.

Im a VIP bride also and its a great place. There is a view of the water, not with sand and all but you do get a great view. You can negotiate the price and the room is beautiful. I love the outdoor space that there is.

I went to Greentree about three years ago for a wedding and had a really bad experience. My mom had a broken plate mixed into her salad! Luckily as soon as she bite the salad she realized there was something sharp in her plate and spit it out. Other than that happening, the party was great but my family and I were afraid to eat anything else the rest of the night.

I dunno how pricey it is, but my cousin had hers at the davenport and the outdoor CH was just soooo nice... it was a nice place overall!

ETA: i went to a wedding at greentree last yr and yeah i thought the backyard was a little strange, but it didnt phase me bc the ceremony area was beautiful!
