I booked the Manor room at Westbury Manor, and they gave me a min guest count of 145. I invited 220 people, and now I think I will have a max of about 130 people actually coming, since a lot of people are out of town My problem is that I will be short about 15 people, and the thought of having to pay for them is making me very upset. Do you guys think it would be okay to ask WM to throw in an extra hour, since the cost of that would equal about the cost of the 15 people not coming? Or do you think they will lower the min at all? Any suggestions are appreciated, I'm bugging out a bit here!

Did you get through the B list? If you invite an extra 30 or so people and say 'I guess it got lost in the mail....'

they didn't do anything for me except i didnt have to pay extra for vendors and i got to take all the extra meals home.

It's a little over a month in advance, so maybe if you talk to the BM, they can do something to work with you in some way. Just explain that you never thought you would have so few people and since it's a month away.. maybe they could work with you a little on the price or accomodate you with extra desserts or something. I mean.. it's not like they ordered the food and this is completely last minute. Granted.. 15 for us is a lot, but 15 for them shouldn't be.

it's worth a shot to ask for freebies from the RH ...
alternatives if that doesn't work: 1. have the RH count vendors as regular guests ... that way, you'll still be losing money, but only half as much (since vendors usually cost 1/2 as much to feed) 2. invite random people from LIW - people often go and bring gifts and whatnot ...
