RH Negative Blood Type

Hi - are any of you out there RH Negative blood type? I have to go to Winthrop Hosptial on Tuesday to the blookd bank center to get a shot. Has anyone done this, and if so, what can I expect.

I am a bit PO'ed at my doctor since they never told me that this is what I had to do and this shot should have been given to me about 2 weeks ago. But what can I do now.

I had to have this after my miscarriage and probably again at 28 weeks. It is a shot in your arm into the muscle, I am not going to lie it does hurt a little. If you rub the area after the injection it will feel better quickly.

I wonder why I have to go to the blood bank at the hospital for this? Thanks for the warning on the shot.

I don't know either i had to pick it up from the pharmacy and bring it to my doctor. I think it had to be in the fridge if I remember correctly
Maybe because it has to be cold. That is the only thing I can think of

I had to have the shot too , it was quick and paimless( my was in the butt) .
Your Insurance coverage determines if you pick up the shot and bring it or if they just give it to you , and yes it needs to stay cold.

I had to get the shot in my 1st trimester because of some spotting. But then my DH got testing and he is Bneg so I never had to have the shot at 28 weeks. But the shot that I got (it was on the butt) was quick and relatively painless.
