RH opinions/reviews

Looking into reception halls. On my list are

Chateau Briand
Watermill
Fox hollow
Crestwood manor
Larkfield manor
Crest hollow Country
Venetian yacht club

Small wedding. 100 people. I dont want larger. I was disappointed with Chateau mandating 150 because they are getting rid of the small room for 2013. They are the only place we have visited so far.

If anyone can send me any possible quotes they have that would be great. Also ideally would love to do ceremony on site as well. Any information is greatly appreciated

We're having a small wedding, too, and we're in the Winter Garden Pavilion at Fox Hollow. Our date is in October, which is more of a peak season, so your rates might be cheaper - they gave us $82 a person for a Saturday afternoon. Prices would be higher for the evening, but their night ceremonies don't even start until 8 so I didn't even ask how much more.

Also doing ceremony on site - $750. At first I was really shocked and almost put-off by that price, considering it's more than many places. However, not only was everything else about FH perfect for a small wedding, but the cost of the ceremony includes alllllll of the decorations and flowers so that was a big relief.

If you use an officiant through them, the fee is $400, pretty normal.

They also comped us a room the night of the wedding.

I'm getting married at Chateau Briand, and let me tell you! We checked out so many places! Fell in love with CHCC but... They were asking for way too much when it came to ceremony site and cocktail hour but its truly beautiful there!

CHCC quoted us $85pp for a Sunday Evening in Sept and $82 pp for Nov.
it was $1150 for on site ceremony and $750 for an outdoor reception.

We chose Chateau Briand because it gave us the same feel for way less. We were quoted $90 pp for a Sunday evening in Sept but we were also told that if we did a day wedding (ceremony starting at 1pm) we could do $75pp. So we booked with them for a Saturday afternoon in Sept, plus there food is amazing and its absolutely beautiful! AND because Chateau Briand is owned but Scotto Brothers we were also given a free night at Fox Hollow Inn which is BEAUTIFUL!

i wasn't impressed by the pictures on the fox hollow website because they were at night and with over the top romantic flower pieces that kind of obscured the room...but as soon as we went in, even on a grey rainy day, it was completely full of light and such an open space to work with. FH said he knew right when we went inside the WGP that was the place for us but I had pretty much chosen FH just from pictures reviews and opinions on here

We are getting married at The Watermill, so I'm a little biased. FH and I did look at Fox Hollow and it was wonderful. I wasn’t a fan of the smaller room, which is why we didn’t book with them. The Watermill is a little more modern. We got a really good deal for a Saturday night, but we increased our min to 145. I know they do take weddings for 100 people. I don’t have my paperwork with me, but I think the ceremony fee was around $700.

I would definitely check out The Watermill.

I'm booked at CHCC and we fell in love with it immediately! The grounds are amazing and all of the rooms are so pretty too. I've heard great things about their service on the day of and so far everyone has been great with us.

We were quoted $90/pp for a Fri night wedding. I don't have quotes for any other time since we were pretty set on an Aug/Sept wedding. But I know afternoons are less expensive as well as in the off season.

Our minimum is also 100, I didn't want too many more than that either. They have plenty of rooms to facilitate a wedding of that size, which I was pleased with.

Crestwood manor's cocktail room was beautiful - good luck in your search!

I'm also in the Winter Garden Pavillion room at Fox Hollow and I love it. I agree that in person it looks WAY better than the pictures on their site. Search 'The Bride's Review' on here for the room (also search 'WGP') and you'll see better pictures. As for pricing, it's very similar to CHCC.

I would def look into the watermill, I may be biased but they definitely will negotiate and work with you. It is def worth making an appointment!

Hi I happen to be in the WGP @ the Fox Hollow, but I did go to 9 other venues. I really liked the Jericho Terrace, but wasn't to happy w/ their outside area (for picture taking purposes). The Bridgeview YC was beautiful as well. Really depends on what you are looking for and the style of your wedding. There are so many venues on LI 2 pick from. Good luck!!!
