RH Problem Update & General Advice
Ok, as many of you know I have had some issues recently with my RH. Even though on some posts I didn´t put the name I realized it comes up with my info automatically. I want to make sure not to make the other Leonards Brides uncomfortable so I will put some details here.
Long Story short(or short for me since I always ramble so much!
) I was beginning to feel like I had been taken advantage of for being overseas and couldn´t be there in person. . I had done all the communications verbally with BM#1 and when my mother went in to pay the information was different. My mom was told there must´ve been a misunderstanding and accepted it. (have since confirmed it wasn´t a misunderstanding since other people i know of got what was originally promised to me and I had to change my date to good friday!!!! and still didn´t get it!!) Other similar issues i will not get into now.
The same thing happened over the room size. From the beginning we were unsure of the amount of people (only guaranteeing 50 but there may be more) There were promises made verbally to me and my mother before the actually signing of the contract but after booking all of a sudden we couldn´t get a different room unless we had over 125 people. (There were a few things that although I told my mother to make sure were in the contract apparently weren´t - she´s too trusting) There was a lot of negative communication (not answering emails/phone calls) and bad attitudes from the BM#1. I was getting the feeling that since we already signed and paid the deposit that´s all they cared about. I have since learned that he no longer works there so maybe he was acting like that because he knew he was leaving(or being fired not sure which) but still its no excuse. Planning from here is hard enough without your RH ignoring you when you explained from the begining you will need them to be avail through email for questions since you can´t go in to see them
I see this is getting long so I will try to summarize more. There was a lot of back and forth and uncertainty with who my BM was found a great guy BM#2 that was super nice and helped me out. However, when he looked at my contract he said I was in a SMALLER ROOM!!! He said somone went in and signed a paper that changed the time and room.
I called my parents and their form only has the change of time info. My parents went in to figure out what the hell was going on. I´m still unclear about what exactly what happened but it seems that BM#1 double booked the room that was on our contract and someone wrote in the Room change on that form to make it seem like we switched rooms!! However, the issue was resolved.
My mother told them that this was not our fault and that under no circumstances are we accepting a smaller room. BM#3 (our new offical BM) was completely understanding and agreed with her so they upgraded us to a bigger room.
ADVICE: Get everything in writting (converstions followed by email and when they don´t respond insist they do so even if they already gave you the answer verbally) and save every single piece of paper you get - no matter how trivial you think it is. Since the paper for changing the time seemed like no big deal to my mother (it was a slight change in time) she almost threw it out. I think it was my father who told her to keep it. If she hadn´t it would´ve looked like we had requested a smaller room and there was no way of fighting it. (although I would not have accepted that and would´ve given them hell when I got to NY) But this way it saved everone aggravation(additional aggravation anyway) and the problem was resolved fairly quickly.
All the Leonards brides relax!! Most of my aggravations and problems were due to a BM who is no longer working there and it seems that the people who are still there are more than willing to help.
My mother told me not to worry that everything is ok and that Leonards is beautiful!! I can´t wait to finally get to see it when I´m in NY.
