RH question!?!

Hey girls!

I was wondering how far in advance did you book your RH?

My BF and I will be engaged sometime before June! He lives in NC and I'll be moving there in July....and planning a NY wedding (Oct 08)!

I found this amazing place that is perfect and fits in my unofficial budget, but he wants to wait until after we are 'official'...ie...May?! I agree too, but am afraid I might not get a date in Oct.!

it might be close...stuff is starting to book up already...i wanted May and all the Sat were booked so I went with friday..it worked out wonderful but we were shocked that so many places were booked for 08 already

you should probably start looking, the halls are booking quick.

I thought this would be the case!! :( He is not from NY and this whole LI wedding stuff is still a shock to him. He thinks we can wait until May 07 to book it!

We have a complicated situation b/c we only see each other once every 3-5 weeks...any most times I go to him. (He is a resident and works most weekends!) And he is hardly here ...though last time he came up I showed him the RH - CLM and we both loved it!!

I understand it's kinda backwards to book first before being engaged but I don't want to wait until 09...esp. since I'll be living with him for a year if we do it in '08. I'm not comfy living with him for more than that beforehand....

Anyone else have a situation like this? Sorry so long!

My cousin booked everything before getting engaged. they just went looking and booked a whole package 2 YEARS in advance.

I would say if u really like a place and you know you can afford the down payments and you love it i would book it. Ask about cancellations and what the policy is. To me its really insane booking so early even for me march 2008 but i am freaking out because everyone is booking at least two years in advance now to get their dates so now its a mad dash to get the entire CLM payment of 5k in the bank so we don't have to worry about oh.. **** we forgot about the dp bill comming in and now we need to charge it IoI

I guess I had better get moving!!! Well he is coming up in 2 weeks so I'm certain we'll be having some good face-to-face conversations regarding the RH and all the goes with it!

Wish me luck.....who knows maybe the holidays will bring something ! And even if not, we still will have to discuss our options!

I would book now simply because they increase prices regularly. I would want to get a good deal.

I want to but I have to get him to realize this first! CLM had told me the same thing....book soon! I told him this and he didn't believe me!! But thanks to all of you who have confirmed this for me...maybe he will see the light!!Hahahah

yeah but RH are going to tell you to book soon because they want to lock you into the business. I honestly think that you have SOME time, but I don't think you can wait a year. Also remember that the sooner you book, the less your bulk payments can be. If you have your heart set on one particular day I would sincerely talk to him about it and explain the situation. I know your anxious to get the ball rolling but you don't want to overwhelm him either. Its his wedding too. JMO...I tried to do the same thing. I think once you book your going to be sitting around going....ok we're all booked now wheres my F-ing

That is true! It is just hard right now to talk about anything b/c of his schedule! But when I see him (soon!!) I'm sure we will take the time to figure out what works best for us. Plus we have a wedding to go to so that will def. inspire us - - - he has never been to a wedding before!!! And as for the ring...I'm not at all concerned about it! All I know is that he told me I'll have it before I move in -which is July!! But you are right ... I def. don't want to apply unnecessary pressures! That would not be good!
