Re: RH question...

First you need to get an idea of how many guests you will be having so you can see which halls will meet you needs and see the rooms that you would be able to book according to your minimums. Also you should get an idea of a date, a month or a season so you can get price quotes. Also it would be helpful if you start a preliminary budget so you can not waste your time visiting and falling in love with places that you won't be able to afford. You can try this website to get an idea of prices and how many people at each RH. Look at there websites to see which ones you may be interested in visiting...I learned to call and verify with the halls what their minimum were before going because that site is not always accurate and I'm only having 50 guests minimum which made it difficult for me.

Definitly have a # of guests in mind.. and a max. amount you want to spend on each plate. Then check out the vendors here on NYcweddings.. they are sooo helpful.

i agree with above and also you can do a search on liweddings on name of places you look at. Alot of brides feel this overwhelming where do I start looking, but just start narrowing it down, where you want it....on the water, in a mansion, a countryclub, a golf course, etc. There are alot of websites that offer simple quizzes to help narrow it down as well. Good luck and keep talking to us if you get overwhelmed.

I agree with what all the other girls said. Do you have anything specific that your hall MUST have? Like, being by the water, big windows, chandeliers..?? I'll try to help if you have something in mind!

Re: RH question...

definatly know what day and time you want your wedding ( afternoon/ night, fri, sat , sun ?) , also make up a list of guests so you have a rough count of how many you will be inviting. Think if you want a wedding by the water or not. Decide whether you will be getting married in a church or at the RH. Think abuot out of town guests, how far will they have to travel, are there accomodations for them nearby, stuff like that. I would look at different rh websites that way you get a feel for what each hall is all about before you go and make an appointment to see them. If a RH tells you they dont make appointments, then make sure they day you go to see them that there are no events going on otherwise you wont be able to see the dining rooms! And have just a general idea in your head of how much you want to spend per person. Good luck!
