So last weekend we went to go see the West Sayville County Club. Really liked it, got a great price and they have the weekend we were looking at. We left off that we were going to look at some other places but would be in touch and would be interested in going back for a tasting (the head chef is away for two weeks). I get a voicemail yesterday from the woman we met with that she has someone else interested in that weekend and wants to offer it to us first if we are still interested. she wants me to call her to let her know if she should hold the date. We just saw her on sat!! Is this just a sales tactic?? Did you think they would hold the date without a deposit? Even though we did like it I want to look at some more places. This was only our third.

Re: RH question
I'm guessing that they all say that. We had 3 places say that to us. So we finally went with the Harbor Club, Matthew is great there! He told us our date was available so when we left he told us to try a come up with a decision, noone else wanted that date yet,but if someone came in and wanted it and had a deposit to give he said he would have to give it to them first. But, if that happened he'd try to persuade them for a different day. We wound up bookign with him! I love it there!

Re: RH question
Maybe you could put a depo down but with the right to cancel within 2/3weeks. that way you could look around without worrying.

Re: RH question
my RH held our date for a week. We are getting married in a prime month, plus it's on a sat night. They don't want to loose the date god forbid you don't want the place, so I think they are covering their behinds...
if there are other places your interested in, look at them, if it's meant to be, then it's meant to be.

That is what I would do. You seem to really like this place. However, check out some others just to be sure.

Re: RH question
most of the RH's i've been to said they will hold it for 5-7 days depending on the place without a deposit. trying calling her and asking how long she can hold it and then try to check out the other places in the mean time.

Re: RH question
They typically don't hold the date without a deposit. Maybe that one is not THE ONE. Normally there is a feeling you get when you walk into your RH. If you didn't get it then I would say to keep looking. Plus, they could be pulling your leg about someone else calling about your date.
