What are some recent quotes you've gotten from reception halls? The Allegria just quoted my friend $300/head for Saturday night in October 2013!!! Outrageous!

I think the Allegria is gorgeous, but it is one of the most expensive venues on the island, and she asked for a prime date and time. That's still way over any quote I got I must have contacted/visited a dozen places (though I was asking for a Sunday in March).

October is still prime? I thought peak dates were from May-September. I guess October would be, though, because it's still beautiful weather.
I feel like Oheka Castle is less than that even!
We only looked at about eight or so places, but the most expensive quote I got was at Flowerfield in June at $180/head.

A lot of the vendors I spoke with said that Fall has surpassed the spring as the most popular time to get married, at least on the Island. What is it about the Allegria she liked? Maybe someone has other suggestions for something similar but not crazy expensive.

our RH had Sept-Oct as prime. It was actually more $ than June.

late April to late October is now PRIME in most RH's eyes.
The Allegria is ridiculous, but Oheka is more since they have $10k site fee in addition to the per head cost.

that is an insane price, maybe it is beautiful, but still is it worth it? I guess if you have endless amounts of $$$$.

I heard this too about the Fall now being the most popular and expensive.

Oheka can be less than that if you chose a different night of the week. but you also have to factor in the site fee on top of the per person price. HTH

$300!!!!!!! That's INSANE!!!! If she wants a wedding of about 20 people I guess it's ok.
There are so many places to get married on Long Island. Tell her to keep looking and she will find exactly what she loved about Allergia.

I agree! Totally!!! Even when you go there for a drink they charge city prices ($15 for a strawberry margarita) and like $13 for appetizer french fries! I cant afford happy hour there more than once every few months, let alone a WEDDING!!!!

That is crazy! You can book a NYC venue for that price. Been to a lovely wedding there but not a $300.00 a plate wedding!
