RH Rant....What would you do?

RH Rant....What would you do?

So we are about three weeks away from the wedding and we just went for our final meeting.

It was our understanding that there would only be two parties at one time and we were told we would be the last party that day.

Today we found out that there are going to be three parties and the third party is in the other upstairs room down the hall from ours. Which means we are sharing a bathroom. Not only that, but the third party starts after ours so we are not the latest party!

To top it all off I found out that I cannot have the bridal suite until an hour and a half before my ceremony so now I have no idea where I am going to get ready before hand.

I am at the point where I do not want to get married at the RH. I feel like we were lied to. My FH, myself, my parents all remember being promised certain things and then we got 'we would have never said that.' It is way too late to change and far too much money has been invested.

What would you do???

Oh gosh...I feel so badly. My wedding is the weekend before (10/30) and it is wayyyyy too late in the game to even think of that kind of nonsense! Have you reviewed your contract??? There must be something in there that you can use to follow up with the RH. I would back down because what they're trying to pull will really impact your day.............feel SOOOO bad!!!

This sounds terrible. I wouldnt back down either. You are paying alot of money and they should fix their mistake or compensate you for the hassel. Where is your RH???

Can you maybe complain to the manager or owner?! I def would...you should not be feeling this way weeks before your wedding

That is unacceptable. They must at least give you the Bridal Suite or another room for you to get ready.

Definitely talk to the owner or someone other than who you just met with.

Thanks ladies for your support and helpful suggestions. I am actually trying to be calm about it and think about how we can best fix the situation to make the most of it. However, we did make our unhappiness known last night and will be calling today to try and straighten things out as best as possible.

I will keep you posted!

Thanks,
Jamie

Would the RH like it if you decided to pay ten grand less than agreed on the day of? No, so this is the kind of crap that is unacceptable! I would stay as calm as possible because no matter what your wedding is going to be gorgeous and you are going to be elated - but I would most certainly look through the contract and re-negotiate price since it is so close to your date that moving the entire wedding would be even more stress.

Good luck, keep us posted!

Re: RH Rant....What would you do?

I would think there has to be specific info in your contract regarding the spaces that are included for the price you agreed upon. For example, I quickly went through our contract and (not a great example bc only 1 wedding at a time) but it does itemize out that the bridal suite is reserved between x and y. Comb through everything in a calm manner and arm yourself with as much info as possible before following up directly with them....

What does it say in the contract?

Def review your contract... I'm BIG on getting everything written down... it's hard to come back later and say well you SAID this if it isn't on the contract.... That said, even if it isn't, I would put up a HUGE stink, maybe at the very least you can get some $$$ or extras out of it.

Sorry but I don't understand why it's such a big deal that you'd be sharing a bathroom wtih another party. I mean, it's not 100% ideal, but it's not THAT terrible.

As far as not having the bridal suite until an hour and a half before the ceremony, maybe the RH can provide you with a different room before that? If not, you can do what i did and get ready at the hotel block (or at your house). Just put your dress on at the RH so it doesn't get wrinkled as you drive over to the RH.

Don't stress - you'll have a wonderful wedding regardless and you won't even notice the bathroom sharing thing!

Re: RH Rant....What would you do?

In the grand scheme of things sharing a bathroom is not a huge issue. The issue is that we specifically asked about it when booking and were told that would not happen. The issue is we did not want that kind of overlap and did not want a place with more than two weddings so we specifically asked about it and were told incorrect informaiton.

The issue is that we were lied to by a major vendor and I do not trust them or want to use them any more.

Haha I guess I am back to being upset about it and remaining calm has gone out the window for the moment.

As for the contract, it is at my parent's house. We will be checking it and calling tonight.

Trying to make the best of it,
Jamie

oh, i understand .... it's frustrating to be told one thing and then something completely different. I'd be annoyed about that as well. But unfortunately, it doesn't seem that anything will change (even if it's in your contract, i highly doubt they'd tell the other bride that her wedding is cancelled!).

I would suggest just going with the flow ... it's not worth getting upset over since there's really nothing you can do about it.

Believe me, the things that i thought would annoy the hell outta me didn't bother me one bit on the day of the wedding ... you'll be the same too

I completely understand - I would be livid. They completely broke your trust and shows that they were GREEDY! Even if it wasn't in contract, if you and your family were told one thing and then it was completely disregarded, that is a HUGE deal!

I'm so sorry, that is not okay and I hope they throw some things in at the VERY LEAST

I don't which RH you had, but this sounds like mine. This is pretty much what happened to us except with minor differences.

Re: RH Rant....What would you do?

What does it say in your contract??? Many places say you can have the bridal suite earlier *if* we dont have another wedding before. Ugh that does stink! FM me if youd like to chat! Sorry youre going through this. Unfortunately it doesnt seem like there is anything you can do. Could you get ready at a nearby hotel?

Re: RH Rant....What would you do?

This really sux, I hope you get something out of this for your trouble! There were places we checked out that kept telling us that you didn't see the other weddings going on but when we visited, you were def aware of the other brides and guests. That's why we were so adamant about having ours at a one wedding at a time place... I wish there were 1 wedding a day places, but you really don't get that down here on LI.... upstate maybe lol.
