Just called the RH to see if I can have them set up a candy station since they do not offer it. They said no unwrapped candy allowed and I would have to pay 150.00 plus tax and tip to have waitstaff attend it.
Doesnt that seem a little unfair, they do not offer it, I kinda wanted it, didnt need an attentdnt to sit there it could of been self serve or a BM could of repleniushed it.
Is this normal?

Yeah I was a little annoyed at first, but I did not request it from the beginning so I cant really be mad., Its not like i always dreamed of it and now i cant have it.
We had a little money extra left over and thought it would be a nice extra. Oh well. I just wish with over 25K they were more flexiable.

I can see why they would say no. - issues with unwrapped candies. It would violate the health code. - if they spill could be a fall hazard.
I am placing some wrapped chocolates in little organza bags on trays on the table where the place cards were. This way people can take them as they leave. Most likely doing hershey kisses in the fall colored foils.

Oh No!! They wont even let you do it if it's self serve?? What if yoy agree to sign a wavier saying that they arent responsible for anyone getting sick from it or something?? I know some places dont let you bring in food because if something happens to a guest some people will sue over food poisioning or something. Would they let you bring in 'wrapped' candy at least??

Our RH won't let us either unless we purchase it through them...really expensive with not a great selection (IMO). They told us we can give candy if it is wrapped in a favor style (bag, boxed, etc.) it can't be wrapped lose candy.

Re: RH said no Candy station
that's really unfortunate. we are bringing in a specialty chocolate mold that we are going to break with a gavel and then allow people to eat the chocolate. our bridal manager said we would just have to sign a waiver to allow it. hope they don't change their mind!
will they allow you to have wrapped candies out?

Re: RH said no Candy station
There are liability issues likely attached (like on the off chance someone got sick)
