Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty

So last night FH told me that he's tired of his crooked nose and wants to have a nose job

He has a deviated septum that he had 'fixed' 3 years ago but he still has a lot of difficulty breathing out of his left nostril. So he's wondering if he could get insurance to cover all of the stuff they would normally with the deviated septum and then we cover the cost of the cosmetic part. Does anyone know anything about this?

I think he's perfect the way he is and I honestly couldn't see what he was talking about with the crookedness but if it makes him happy, then I'm happy.

If money wasn't an issue, I think he TOTALLY would.

Re: Rhinoplasty

If he has a deviated septum i think insurance will pay for it.

I told him he should get one of his friends who does MMA training to break his nose and then insurance will cover it. He didn't seem to be going for it.

this happened to my gf... she had a really bad deviated septum and the doc told her she had to have it fixed, well the doc told her if she wanted the nose job to do it because they had to break her bone anyway, so she did but insurance didnt cover any of it.. she took out a loan, it was like 5-10k, i dont remember the exact amount though

Insurance is likely to cover the operating room, the anesthesiologist and other the hospital fees, but not the surgeon fees, which will be at a minimum $5K.

LOL! I would love to go for it! That'll make it much more likely that I'll get my lipo and tummy tuck after I have babies. Unfortunately, we just can't afford it. Maybe our other option is for him to catch himself a nice sugar mama and I'll be his little dish on the side.

My friend did it for medical reasons too and I dont think most of it was covered, she still had to pay a big portion. What your Fh can do is get the surgery financed. You put a downpayment which i think is only a small percentage of the total cost, and the rest you do like a 48 month plan and pay it off monthly.

I also have a deviated septum and should get it fixed but havent and dont know if i ever will. Alot of ppl told me that others have gotten it fixed but a few years later it came back and they still had problems. I have a horrible fear of surgery so i wont go under the knife if it will just come back. I feel i have a bit of a bump on my nose too but i am used to it and goes with my face , most dont even see it until i point it out so its nothing big.

Does he want to do it before the wedding? That's risky so close. It can take 6 or more months for the swelling to totally disappear, depending on how long it takes you to heal.

is it effecting his breathing, sinus problems etc? if it's non symptomatic insurace may not cover anything.

It does - he can barely breathe out of his left nostril.
