my parents were dying to use there cruise credit card. They paid for almost all my deposit for things just to get the cruise crediet.

My parents did CC. Check or CC is the way to go so you have proof you paid. I wouldn't do cash.

My deposit was made in cash, but I have a contract indicating that I put down $500. My payments have been in checks

We dont want to charge anything so we did the deposit and second payment with check, FH prefer check than cash for all the wedding related stuff so we can keep better track
