I need to order a thing of ribbon. I need it for my ceremony programs (150 of them), menus (60), and CD favors (200 of them).
So, like how many spools of 100 yards do you think I need?

How long is 100 yards of ribbon?

I went to AC Moores for my ribbon (.99 cents per roll!). I asked a lady in the ribbon department for help determining how much ribbon I needed for 250 programs. She was soooooooo helpful. She took a piece of paper, folded it in half, punched two holes in it and put the ribbon through. She determined I needed 15 inches of ribbon for each program and that I would need 200 yards which was 20 rolls of ribbon.
Not really sure if that helped or not!

It helps! Leese - you're getting a 100yd roll, so 2 will be good for the programs as above, but I would order extra b/c you just never know!

That really does help. I've had a hard time trying to find the right color ribbon, so I found one place on the Internet. Hoping to get a sample sent to me soon so I can order it. It 'looks' like the right color....but you never know!
Thanks!

Re: Ribbon Question
how long is the ribbon going to be for each piece (programs, menus, cds)? Do have an estimate on that?
eta: posted before above. You can buy a 99cent spool of 100 yard ribbon, and see how far it would take you - before you order online.

Re: Ribbon Question
there are 3 feet (36 inches) in a yard, so 100 yds is 300 feet, or 3600 inches.

Re: Ribbon Question
Whew! Glad that was helpful! All I know is that I'm going to be sitting there with a ruler measuring out exactly 15 inches of ribbon for each program!

Re: Ribbon Question
I just ordered all of my ribbon and boxes from papermart.com. They have excellent prices. I went to Michael's over the weekend and determined exactly what size I wanted, etc. Then I ordered it. Lisa, you'll save so much $$ ordering it elsewhere.
