Ribbon wands opinion please. DIY pain in the...

neck!

For those of you ladies doing them, did you end up painting your dowels?

I just spent 2 nights cutting about 300 yards of ribbon so far and put them on like half my sticks... They're not even close to being finished as I'm missing a brighter color for a pop but it is time consuming cutting and double knotting the ribbons on.

Now I show my fiance and he asks me, 'shouldn't those be painted?'

ARGHHHHHH
I gave him a look... and then he said they looked great!! That they're fine the way they are.

hmmmmm. Now I'm thinking maybe I really should take them off and paint them? Maybe a pearl ivory? What do you guys think?

What are you guys doing to your ribbon wands?

These are for after the ceremony, instead of having bubbles or a flower petal toss as the bride and groom exit the church or wherever.

If it was me, I'd leave them the way they are and put time & energy into something else....like a nap

It's more important to see the ribbons than the sticks, but even then the color isn't bad. Leave it!

when i did my wands, i had no intention of painting them, all the DIY tutorials I saw did not paint them and it never occurred to me

buttttt my DH(then fh) said the same thing!!!! but mine were all done already

i wouldnt paint them, honestly no one will care...I however did go through the leg work of wrapping each one with ribbon though, looking back I wish i never did it!

you can see here the ends of the dowels and what i did with the ribbon

Nice to know I'm not the only one who's fiance made them re-think it!

I guess I just don't want it to looked un-finished but it seems like such a small thing that it might not matter.

I like the ribbon wrapped around the dowels idea but I think with my colors it might look too childish. Maybe an over abundance of pink. I'm not sure.

Can you tell me what wording you used on your wedding wand labels?

I need to do this too!

I painted mine first. I hung them from the metal eyes on a string, and took them outside with silver spray paint. Then did the ribbon, and tied three ribbons of different colors to each wand.
