Does anyone have a recommendation for where I can get mini paper petal cone holders? I see large ones everywhere, but feel like they are too big to hold rice. Looking for a cone closer to the size of a bathroom cup...

I'm pretty sure they have bird-safe rice. It's biodegradable.

Re: Rice toss
I hope they do too. Its horrible what happens to birds when rice is thrown at weddings. Not something I would recommend doing. Bubbles are better =) and the most churches dont allow rice to be thrown at weddings anymore.

This! They sell the bird-safe rice in Michael's and I think even in Wal-Mart in the wedding section.

My church is not allowing rice to be thrown. They said it's bad for the birds and also bad because people are going hungry. I didn't think to ask about the biodegradable rice. That's a good idea.

Re: Rice toss
when my sister got married, their church told them it wasn't about the birds dying - it was because they didn't want to have to clean it all up
I got paper cones from papermart, i think they're 4 inches long.

Re: Rice toss
I found cute cones that are biodegradable, and when you plant them...flowers bloom. We used them for petals and did a petal toss.
Pics are in my DIY album

Re: Rice toss
We weren't allowed to throw anything at my church bc of people possibly slipping, falling, and it then becoming a liability. We were told we could blow bubbles, run bells or wave wands....nothing being thrown, no rice (biodegradable or regular), no rose petals, no birdseed...
We did bubbles and the pics came out AWESOME!
Good luck!

Yes girls, there is 'wedding rice' which melts away in the rain. We are allowed to throw whatever we want, as long as we pay the janitor to clean it up I promise, no real rice will be thrown.

good to hear! i don't know how many people you have coming, but have you thought about DIY. you can follow these directions and just use a smaller circle/ doily
i am using the bird safe rice. we weren't allowed regular rice due to slipping, but these are not round and are safer. just cant use it inside

Re: Rice toss
My sister did the bubble thing at her wedding outside the church and the pics came out really nice. My only concern with the bubbles is will it stain my dress!!
