ring appraisal

Does anyone know where I can get my e-ring appraised, somewhere that will do it while I am there? I don't feel comfortable dropping it off for a day.

I took my ring to Genaro's in Bellmore. It cost $55, but they do not take the ring out of your sight. They do it in 20 minutes and explain everything while they are doing it. They give you a whole write up on it also.

My jeweler suggested I take mine to Macy's 34th Street in Manhattan. They appraise the highest value around. Department stores values are higher than anyone elses, and Macys is tops.
My appraisal costed $300.00 but it goes by value of your ring (yes I have an awesome stone )
Oh and they do it right in front of you, you should NEVER let it out of your sight, not even for a second.They also give you a write up which you will need to insure it, The insurance company will ask you for this and for the 'title' of your stone.

I got my ring appraised at Macy's and I would recommend them too. They charge 1% of the appraisal quote...Jennbaby, you do have an awesome stone!!! They appraised mine as better quality than Fortunoff said it was. So, he said we got a great price.

I'm recommending to have you appraised it at International Gemological Institute located on 47th & 5th. I think their web site is www.igi.com. This company appraises most of the big and known jewelry stores out there. I used to work for a jewelry company and IGI appraise all my former companies jewelry. The appraisal fee depends on the weight of center diamond and side stones. If you need more info. i.e contact person, please e-mail me @ [email protected].

I would recommend The Jewelry Judge on Old Country Road in Garden City. They were great. They were very clear and took their time to explain everything they were doing. Their number is 516-248-8130.
