Ring Appraisal help needed (repost from Bride Helping Brides Board)

I just got a quote to have my ring insured and they wanted $547 a year!!!! They said they can't add it to my homeowners insurance because of the price of the ring. Does this sound high????

That sounds high. I pay around $250/yr. I guess it all depends on the appraisal of the ring?

That sounds high to me....mine is I think definitely under $100 for the year (spread into my monthly renter's insurance payments)....I guess it depends how much your ring is appraised for--with mine I was still under the amount I was insured for (b/c I have like NO stuff), so it didn't add too much I think....

But that does sound pretty high.

i think it depends on the appraisal of the ring - if your ring appraised for 20K or higher i think that is good. i have mine insured with jewelers mutual (not sure if that is the exact name FH did it for us) and i think its about $600 for the year - it might be a little more i dont know exactley but i remember it being around $600

My ring was a lot of money and i pay $230 for the year from jewelers mutual insurance company

that sounds kind of high to me..but i guess it depends on what your ring was appraised for....my way about 219 a year i think

I work for State Farm and someone we insure their ring was appraissed for 20k and they pay 250 a year

yea a friend of mine ..her ring was appraised at 18k or something like that..and her insurance is arond 200 a year..definately shop around..try jewelers mutual..thats who im with!
