Ring Appraisals

Does anyone know a good, honest place to get the e-rign & wedding bands appraised for the insurance company? I have recently heard some stories that I didn't like too much about the appraiser giving a low-price & trying to actually buy the ring off the person!

Most appraisers will give you a hugely inflated estimate (I worked in jewelry for a long time) to be honest. Generally, what you paid is of course more than the ring is worth, it's kind of like a car-when you walk out of the showroom it's not worth as much anymore.

Just go to a reputable jeweler. Many of them have appraisers on site or give one a call and they may be able to direct you to one. Keep in mind that an insurance company will often not give you the full amount of the appraisal for the ring-because they know it is inflated. Check with your insurance company about this.
