Ring bearer and Flower Girl ages????

I am considering having my nephew and my fiance's cousins daughter as my ring bearer and my flower girl.

Problem is they are 4 and 5 now and by the time of my wedding they will be 6 and 7. Is this too old?

Re: Ring bearer and Flower Girl ages????

I wish I could borrow them! I won't even have a flower girl and ringbearer because all the kids in both our families are too old. Believe me, I wish I had a 6 and 7 year old! It'll be fine! And no worries about them getting scared and starting to cry and refusing to come down the aisle (like I've seen some 4 year olds do.)

They are not old at all.

My flower girl was 5 and my ring bearer was 10.

Re: Ring bearer and Flower Girl ages????

I agree...they are the perfect age to have a great time!!! My FG was 5 and she loved every minute of it. My RB was 4 and he was a little bit shy, but still sooooooooo cute!

Re: Ring bearer and Flower Girl ages????

My niece is gonna be 8 by the time my wedding comes up and the ring bearer will be 5. I just was in a wedding with a 2, 3, & 4 year old as three flowergirls and a 6 yr old as ring bearee...trust me the older they are the better. Talk about crying and confused and scared kids. I am older and I get scared walking down the aisle by myself as a MOH..how do u think 3-5 year olds feel!!

Re: Ring bearer and Flower Girl ages????

I am so glad I found this post. I was so afraid b/c my nephew (ring bearer) will be 51/2 when we marry and we have a few prospects for flowergirl, two will be turn 2 one to two months after our wedding, the 3rd will be 8 1/2 at our wedding. I am afraid 8 1/2 is too old for a flower girl. When I was in my cousin's wedding a million years ago, I was the 'flower girl' but wore the same style/color dress as the bridesmaids (red velvet, UGH the 70's) and I was 7. Do you think 8 1/2 is too old? Can she wear white? Should she match the BM's?

Re: Ring bearer and Flower Girl ages????

Those ages are fine. In fact my FG will be 6 as well as the Ring Bearer. They're psyched to do it.
