Okay so my cousin will be 9 when I get married. Is he too old to carry a pillow?
He already thinks he is by the way cause he came over to me the other day and goes 'Lori so I'm gonna carry the pillow with the rings for you right?'

umm...i dont kno..ive never seen a ring boy over the age of like 5 butttttt that doesnt mean it hasnt been done..and my lil cuzin matthew is going to be 9 and i could sooo seee him carrying a ring boy pillow at this age.
so i say go for it.

my mother said he'll look stupid carrying a pillow which is why I'm not doubting myself. . .and I don't think my sister is going to make him carry one.. . .she's getting married 6 months before me. . .

well my flower girl is 9 and i think that it depends on the kid
Hope is into little girl things still and very sweet and innocent. . . if he gets 'too cool for the room' he might look funny walking down the aisle.
but you could always call him a RB but dont make him hold the pillow and he could be more like an 'escort' for the FG!
if this is the cousin who i am thinking of - i cant believe he is going to be NINE!!

Yea it's my cousin Nicke and I know I feel so old!!!!!!
I don't think he's gonna be the 'really cool tough kid' by then.

9 isn't too old...no rules....but if you feel he wouldn't feel comfortable holding a pillow....what about having him carry the rings some other way? maybe just in the box in his pocket, and he can escort the flower girl down the isle kinda like the bridal party. Or he can walk down by himself with the rings in something like a small decorative jewelry box. (something simple)
If he doesn't have a problem with walking with the pillow, then just do that.

My little brother asked me if he could be a ring bearer and I told him no....hes 11.
yeah there is no rule to that you do what you want. my RB is gonna be 4 when i get married and my jr usher will be 10

I dont think that is too old at all. i do agree that you could consider having him carry the rings in maybe a box instead of a pillow, but if he is excited about the pillow definitely go for it.
