Ok this may be a silly one - i've had my engagement ring for almost 2 weeks now. needless to say its been MANHANDLED!!! I can't believe how many people actually grab the ring when they look at it and put their fingers all over my shiny shiny ! ugg aaanywho -this may sound dumb, but i'm afraid to put it into just regular old jewelry cleaner. i know 'diamonds are the hardest things on earth' ....but i don't want the cleaner to leave a film or anything.
am i nuts ladies - tell me , how do you clean your ring. is there a particular brand that is a favorite of ladies with THE bling!
Thanks

Re: Ring Cleaning Question
i still use the old jewlery cleaner. my cousin is in the jewelry industry and said its perfectly fine which is the only reason i even attempted it. she told me i could even stick it in over night. it works fine and i get to clean it whenever i need to...

Re: Ring Cleaning Question
The gemologist FH went to said to use dish soap and a soft toothbrush. My mother swears by boling her diamonds in ammonia and water, but I prefer the soap and water.

wait - not sound stupid - but do you mean use windex and toothpaste together? haha I'm envisioning a cleaning that looks like the 'baking soda volcano' experiment from 3rd grade

Re: Ring Cleaning Question
I use windex and a soft toothbrush once a week but my jeweler told me to rinse it off with cold water and dry with a clean towel after works great! I've had my ring a year and a half and it still sparkles like new!
