I'm not sure how 'it works' but here's my advice..

Wear what you think looks nice and stop worrying about what other people think. No one is really concentrating that much on your ring or if you're married or just engaged.

Also, people on this site tend to get POed when you throw around carot sizes and say 'its really not that big'. Just a friendly tip
